We have looked at Sony's Aibo twice before and have been impressed each time. Aibo is a robot that can respond to commands, interact with its environment and develop a limited personality based on its experiences.

The AIBO is a cute and cuddly dog that is able to hear, see, feel and learn. That would normally be nothing special except for one thing - AIBO is a robot developed by Sony's Digital Creatures Laboratory in Japan. When launched in 1999, it was the first of its kind and created a whole new type of "home entertainment".
AIBO Now Has Self-Recharging and Owner Recognition Capabilities
Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Entertainment Robot America (ERA), a division of Sony Electronics Inc., announced today that it will release a new software application for AIBO [ERS-210A] and [ERS-210] models that will empower the robot to autonomously recharge itself when its battery runs low and then continue its autonomous behavior (setting required).
